Byron Bradley FGLP Trip Leader

Byron Bradley

Byron is a Midwesterner, having grown up in rural Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University with a Masters in Education and taught in public schools for many years. Deciding to change his life, he moved from his small town of 400 people to the heart of Kansai, Japan. From 2004 to 2006, he lived in Osaka (Nishi Yodogawa) then Hyogo (Nishinomiya). He was the head teacher at NOVA's Nishi Umeda branch, and he travelled to many parts of Japan and Asia.

He has lived in the Boston area since moving back from Japan, but he has maintained a relationship with the country he fell in love with. Working at Arlington High School in Arlington, Massachusetts, Byron became heavily involved with the sister-city exchange program with Nagaokakyoshi. Leading groups of Arlington school kids led to him and his wife moving back to Japan, this time to Kyoto to teach in the public schools of Nagaokakyo. Byron moved back to Boston in 2010, and he feels very lucky to be able to keep Japan in his life. He enjoys photography, movies and music, and he loves karaoke and spending as much time as possible with his family. He is very excited to share Boston with you and make your visit as fun, educational and memorable as possible.
